About Us

At Once Upon A Child we buy gently used items from our customers. Unlike a consignment store, we pay cash on the spot for items we select. We are the nation's leading buyer and seller of name brand, new and gently used kids stuff. Why pay outrageous prices for brand name clothes and toys?  Simply gather up your gently used kids stuff including: clothing, playards, toddler beds, changing tables, strollers, highchairs, and toys and bring them to us for $$$ on the spot for all items accepted. Clothes need to be freshly laundered, free of stains, and of current style. Toys need to include all pieces, and all furniture & equipment need to include their original parts.

The items we are currently seeking are:      - Books and Outdoor Toys     - Swimwear and Sandals     - Cribs (Manufactured after 06/28/11 Only)     - Playards, High Chairs, & Strollers     - Spring/Summer Youth Clothes Sizes 3T thru 18

Also, due to overstock, we will be extremely selective when buying gently used clothes that are sizes newborn to 24 months.  We look for clothes that are in excellent condition, free of stains, odors, and wearing.  For clothes with multiple pieces, we look for their matching 2 or 3 pieces and dresses with their diaper covers.

Special Note: To comply with regulations, we will only purchase gently used cribs that have a manufacturer's date of June 28, 2011 or later.

Here are some general requirements when selling to us.  Items should be brought in a box, tote, or basket -- no bags, please, as this type of container tends to wrinkle clothes and is harder for us to handle.  Items should be free of stains, odors, excessive wear, and contain no yard sale price stickers.  Clothing must be in good condition, of current style, freshly laundered, free of safety pins, and neatly folded (not on hangers). Toys, equipment and furniture items must be assembled in the store to verify all parts are present.  We reserve the right to turn away items that do not meet these conditions.  When deciding to bring in and sell large furniture, equipment, and toys be sure to check out the consumer Product Safety Commission's website at www.cpsc.gov to see if any items are on recall.  We always check items that are brought in and we do not purchase items that have been recalled.

Please be thoughtful to other customers regarding the number of items you bring in to sell.  Although we try to work as quickly as possible, the more you try to sell at once, the longer it may take us to sort through your items.  We do reserve the right to prioritize and work first on smaller buys and / or customers with large equipment so that we keep accumulation and clutter to a minimum and prevent mixups.  We prefer buys that consist of 50 items or less.  Also, due to excess inventory we have on clothes for newborns to 24 months, we will only buy these items if they are like new.
